About the Role:
The Senior Sales and Trade Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with the Director, Global Trade Marketing – Retail, to develop and implement global trade marketing strategies to achieve defined business goals across all product categories. Working closely with the sales team to align sales and trade marketing strategies across each channel within the Retail Beauty Division; Retail, Travel Retail, Spa Hospitality and Military. This position will work closely with the SVP, Global Retail Sales, to manage the retail division’s annual North America P&L budget as well as retailer seasonal products and promotional gift set production forecasts. This position will liaise between Moroccanoil retail partners and Moroccanoil HQ – sales, marketing and accounting departments. Key to the position is to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments Sales, Education, Marketing, Digital, Visual Merchandising, Creative and International retail teams.
Responsibilities:
Trade Marketing
- Support the Director, Global Trade Marketing as Trade Marketing point of contact for retail partners including – but not limited to – Sephora US/CAN, Sephora within Kohl’s, Nordstrom, and Bluemercury.
- Support the creation of retail-specific go to market strategies/execution, including launch, support and seasonal integrated calendar in collaboration with Brand Marketing.
- Being strategic of year over year newness and promotional gift set plan, thus minimizing financial liability.
- Maintain retail marketing and promotional calendar for key North America retailers.
- Manage omni-sampling programs and execution across all retailers with guidance from Director, Global Trade Marketing
- Point person for receiving/executing by retailer coop advertising agreements.
- Work in tandem with Director, Global Trade Marketing along with cross functional departments to create seasonal retailer market meeting presentation decks, aligning to the overarching marketing strategy.
- Collaborate with the Director, Global Trade Marketing on Marketing plans for seasonal newness and core business for retailer Market meetings.
- Help drive the constructive collaboration of brick and mortar and .com, working to evolve the business to fully capitalize on the strengths of each channel.
- Work with Visual Merchandising and Sales on a seasonal basis to ensure product assortments are prioritized based on SKU productivity and marketing strategies.
- Monitoring seasonal SKUs that are to be removed based on assortment adjustments, adding new SKUs, or removal of discontinued SKUs.
- Own briefing and creative deliverable process (partnering with Brand Marketing) of retailer-specific creative asset development and ensure retailer program deadlines are being achieved.
- Measure marketing program performance/effectiveness by regularly monitoring KPIs – insights and strategies (Golden Book, dashboards, campaign wrap reports).
- Collaborate with the International Retail Marketing teams for synergies with global retailers like Sephora (NA, EU, and Asia) and Travel Retail.
Sales
- Propose analytically supported recommendations to enhance sales performance.
- Collaborate with Events and Education to develop relevant animations, events, and instore programs.
- Advise on tests and learn in-store marketing programs.
- Lead development of seasonal communications to the field sales team.
- Conduct competitive research to support retail strategies.
- Coordinate with Sales leads to track/monitor inventory levels of select SKUs that can result in the issuing of return authorizations.
- Coordinate with Sales, Account Management and Visual Merchandising to monitor/track seasonal d-listed SKUs, from retailer planograms.
Production Forecasting
- Work closely with senior sales executives to create by market, by retailer production forecast for newness and promotional gift sets; 12 – 18 months prior to launch date.
- Manage by retailer order writing grid and seasonal allocation against retailer actual forecast, finding opportunities to increase/decrease or reallocate units based on product availability and retailer adjustments.
Profit and Loss Management
- Oversee retail division’s budget tracking.
- Work closely with senior management to create annual P&L budget template, develop and manage annual division sales/marketing budgets.
- Throughout the year track revenue by channel/retailer and expenses; reconciliation monthly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant work experience in Trade Marketing in CPG (Prestige beauty category a plus).
- Experience in beauty categories and with specialty retailers like Sephora, Nordstrom, Bluemercury.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Ability to tell a story with data and find real insights to drive business.

Salary : $105,000 - $120,000
