The Morongo Environmental Protection Department is offering a High School Internship opportunity. Interns will fulfil volunteer roles and gain professional work experience in the environmental field. Students will work side-by-side with Environmental Specialists to gain real-world experience an will complete their own individual project related to environmental protection on the Morongo Indian Reservation.
Students will commit to 18 hours a week for 5 weeks in June and July. Students will complete 90 hours to satisfactorily fulfill the internship. Students will be expected to arrive promptly and work for the duration of their shift from 9am to 4pm, with an hour lunch.
Upon satisfactory completion of the internship, all students will receive a certificate of completion certifying volunteer hours worked. Students may receive High School credit (as approved by a counselor). It is the student’s responsibility to arrange the credit fulfillment with their school.
