What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Communications Operator position at Morongo Basin Ambulance?
Morongo Basin Ambulance is a nonprofit EMS agency that serves the Morongo Basin through responding to 911 calls and Inter-Facility Transfers. An Emergency Communications Operator is responsible for relaying pertinent information from a digital alert system to the crews, documenting that information adequately, and coordinating with local agencies and hospitals for further services. Currently looking to fill a part time position. There's 3 -4 weeks paid live training. Part time 2-3 days per week.
Duties:
- Receives and records information from a digital alert system - Active 911
- Relays the information to the appropriate crew
- Monitors radio traffic and crew’s status while responding to the 911 call
- Assists crews through directions to an address via maps
- Overview crews and patient information to ensure precision
- Verify insurance via insurance portals
- Verify and complete IFTs
- Basic daily cleaning tasks
