Qualifications
- 5 years of commercial and/or retail construction estimating experience
- 5-10 years of self-perform estimating for an interior drywall/carpentry company
- Demonstrates and models Morrey's Contracting core values
- 2-5 years of experience with On-Screen Takeoff
- Ability to independently perform conceptual, schematic and design development budgets
- Understands and managers value engineering exercises
- Ability to review plans for consistency and accuracy
- Manage all levels of take offs and can apply unit prices
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Project
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Works well with others
Responsibilities
- Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs required for finish carpentry, drywall and paint projects.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and estimates.
- Ensure estimates are competitive and meet the client’s requirements.
- Obtain and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure the best possible rates.
- Maintain current unit price and historical database
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients regarding project estimates and progress.
- Develop and maintain excellent subcontractor/vendor relationships
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the project.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
