- Handles, prepares and cooks meals following oral and written instructions, menu recipes with knowledge of kitchen operation equipment.
- Set up meals, seasons food, estimate food requirements and utilizes leftovers.
- Ability to be responsible for avoiding food waste.
- Prepares and presents food in attractive and palatable manner.
- Must be able to meet meal schedules and serving times.
- Clean, cut, and cook meat, fish and poultry.
- Prepares desserts, pastries, breads and cakes.
- Apportion and serve food to employees.
- Wash pots, pans, dishes and other cooking equipment used in food preparation.
- Clean and maintain the kitchen facility in a safe and sanitary manner including floors, walls, all equipment and utensils.
- Responsible for checking in and putting away orders.
- Estimates daily or weekly needs and orders food supplies and equipment.
- Keeps daily record of meals served and takes inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Keep daily records of Temperatures.
- Keep Dietary area clean and sanitary.
- May train new employees.
- May assist in washing and sterilizing of dishes and tableware.
