Position Summary : The Director of Human Resources (HR) will serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team of Morris Bank. This role oversees all aspects of human resources, fostering an employee-centered, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Director of HR will be responsible for aligning HR initiatives with the bank's overall strategy and business objectives, while ensuring operational excellence across all HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership :

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support the bank's mission, vision, and growth objectives.
  • Lead organizational design initiatives to ensure the structure supports operational effectiveness and scalability.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights to guide decision-making, optimize performance, and shape policy formulation.
  • Develop and lead change management strategies to support organizational growth and transformation.

Talent Acquisition and Retention :

  • Oversee recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic goals.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive onboarding programs that accelerate integration and productivity.
  • Create and implement employee retention strategies, including career development pathways, mentorship programs, and recognition initiatives.
  • Employee Relations and Culture :

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and mediator to resolve employee relations issues and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Champion the bank's culture and values using the bank's Code BLUE principles, driving employee engagement initiatives that reinforce a high-performing and collaborative workplace.
  • Lead internal communications to ensure consistent messaging, transparency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular pulse surveys and feedback sessions to proactively address employee needs and concerns.
  • Compensation and Benefits :

  • Design, manage, and evaluate competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain employees while ensuring alignment with market trends.
  • Monitor and assess industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
  • Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
  • Learning and Development :

  • Develop and implement training programs that enhance employee skills, technical knowledge, and leadership capabilities.
  • Facilitate succession planning and leadership development initiatives to ensure a robust pipeline of future leaders.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through measurable outcomes and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning by identifying skill gaps and providing tailored learning opportunities.
  • Compliance and Risk Management :

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies to minimize legal risks.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage sensitive workplace investigations with professionalism and confidentiality, including issues related to harassment, discrimination, and grievances.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all HR activities to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • HR Operations :

  • Oversee HR software management and optimize technology to improve operational efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Manage the annual performance review process, providing guidance and tools to managers for meaningful employee evaluations.
  • Prepare and manage the HR department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Implement and refine standard operating procedures to enhance the consistency and quality of HR services.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or HR certification preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in performing complex and responsible administrative duties for senior executives, including strategic analysis and program coordination, ideally within an HR-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading initiatives that drive cultural transformation and employee engagement.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and safely drive an automobile
  • Ability to walk, sit (for long periods of time), stoop, kneel and reach, various lengths of time and meet other physical demands required to perform the job
  • Must be capable of operating all types of office equipment
  • Must be willing to travel on behalf of the bank in the communities we serve, to all branches, and for training.
  • Equipment Used :
