Position Overview
As the first point of contact for existing customers and the introduction of our company to new prospects, the Business Development/Account Representative is critical in developing, improving and maintaining the relationship between Morris & Dickson and our clients as well as our reputation as a market leader.
The responsibilities of the position include supporting and growing our footprint in existing customer accounts as well as identifying and targeting new business opportunities within the assigned territory. Using strategic, proven prospecting techniques, industry relationships, and market research, this role is responsible for managing all aspects of the business relationship with our customers; you are the subject matter expert on our product offerings and delivery channels. Through attending industry and trade events, you will stay up to date on industry trends, changes and regulatory news. Our BD-AR’s coordinate with all internal company departments to support existing customer relationships within their territory, utilizing appropriate resources to maximize the customer experience as well as corporate profitability.
Specific tasks will include prospecting for new clients, maintaining current industry knowledge, monitoring and auditing customer activity and key indicator reports, providing customer education on new products and purchasing policies, and upselling existing clients while maintaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction, and other duties as assigned.
This position requires experience in account acquisition and account management in the wholesale pharmaceutical industry and a passion for making a difference in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients, demonstrated by customer satisfaction scores, increased product sales and positive retention indicators.
- Maintain current market knowledge including trends and product introductions to position Morris & Dickson as a market-leading, innovative partner in pharmaceutical healthcare product representation and delivery.
- Leverage prospecting activity, industry expertise and industry relationships to identify new potential clients and execute the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, followed by assisting with successful customer onboarding.
- Collaborating with internal company resources to manage every aspect of customer service and growth including preparing proposals, monitoring & auditing client activity reports; creating and maintaining updated individual account plans that show understanding of customer business objectives, goals, & market position; reviewing invoices for accuracy; and monitoring account receivables.
- Prepare and lead internal and client account reviews when necessary.
- Work closely with sales colleagues to identify gaps in market or product penetration within existing territory and client accounts.
- Create, maintain and execute a territory management plan.
- Increase the company’s revenue and operating profit through both increased customer sales and the strategic, efficient use of company and team resources.
- Clearly and effectively communicate to customers about topics and trends impacting healthcare delivery systems.
- Serve as an escalation point for customer issues, concerns and communication.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of account management or business development experience in healthcare sales, calling on and servicing hospital buying departments.
- Have excellent oral & written communication, organizational, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, energetic working environment with the ability to adapt to change and monitor multiple tasks without sacrificing quality or responsiveness.
- Have experience working as part of a broad team of client support resources including sales, product, customer service, and product delivery to deliver client-centered customer service.
- Be committed to delivering unmatched client support and service.
- Accommodate up to 50% territory travel (30% overnight) and occasional travel outside of the territory to attend sales meetings and industry/trade events.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications or related field.
- Prior successful experience specifically in pharmaceutical distribution sales
- A strong, current working knowledge of the health systems industry, including trends and challenges.
- CRM experience.

Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
