Purpose :
The Director of Merchandising leads the strategic vision and execution for all Furniture, Accessory, and Mattress product categories, ensuring alignment with the company's growth goals. This role is instrumental in driving business performance through strategic planning, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. By collaborating with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and E-Commerce teams, the Director ensures cohesive strategies that enhance both in-store and digital customer experiences.
The Director will develop annual merchandise plans, oversee vendor partnerships, and drive product development initiatives that meet customer needs and market trends while optimizing margins and securing favorable terms. This role emphasizes inventory efficiency, leveraging analytics to refine assortment, pricing, and stock levels. Additionally, this position involves continuous improvement of merchandising systems and presenting actionable insights to the executive team to drive growth and efficiency.
Strategy & Leadership
- Lead overall merchandise strategy for all Furniture, Accessory and Mattress product categories
- Direct and develop a high-performing team of buyers and assistants through clear goals and mentorship
- Create and execute annual merchandise plans aligned with company growth targets
- Drive data-driven decision-making culture across the merchandising organization
- Create and maintain overall KPIs including GM, Profit dollars, $ / SF, turn, return rate, etc.
- Lead monthly business reviews with executive team on key performance metrics
