Purpose
The Sales Trainer will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of new hires by providing comprehensive training and sales support in our training and showroom locations. This individual collaborates closely with store leadership and the talent team to implement effective training programs. The Sales Trainer will guide new hires through their initial training period and provide ongoing support, ensuring they are well-equipped to excel in a sales environment.
Essential Functions
- Facilitate in-store and virtual training sessions for new hires, focusing on sales processes, techniques, product knowledge, and relationship selling foundations.
- Actively participate in selling within the showroom location, demonstrating best practices and leading by example.
- Gather feedback from management and collaborative departments to continuously maximize effectiveness of training programs, with a focus on the first 90 days of new sales associates.
- Guide associates through real-time sales interactions with guests to build confidence and proficiency.
- Assign and monitor the completion of training courses to ensure new hires are meeting their training milestones.
- Conduct follow-ups with sales associates to reinforce key concepts and support ongoing development beyond the initial training period.
- Report associate progress to managers regarding the assigned training courses and series.
- Partner in the administration of our Learning Management System (LMS) by assigning courses, tracking progress, generating reports, and updating the training calendar with relevant offerings.
- Implement company policies, sales strategies, and operational procedures for accuracy and consistency.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and high performance.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in retail sales, sales training, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, customer engagement, and closing techniques.
- Passionate and committed to coaching and developing others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays to provide effective training support.
- Comfortability delivering training in both one-on-one and group settings within a fast-paced retail environment.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms, LMS (Learning Management Systems), and other training technologies.
