Overview
The Clinical Informatics (CI) Health Systems Analyst has an in-depth working knowledge of electronic health systems from both clinical and revenue cycle perspectives. They are responsible for overall implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the EHR and all other Health Information Systems. They will utilize clinical practice and system knowledge to ensure the EHR and PM systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice. They will provide tier 2 and 3 support to end users and work with vendors to resolve serious issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core health information applications, including EHR application servers, endpoints, and databases.
- Meet and coordinate with system stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements.
- Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize workflows through requirements specifications, diagrams, system flowcharts and testing plans.
- Implement workflow changes and upgrades to health information systems to meet the health center’s needs Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements.
- Manage the set-up and configuration of health IT systems.
- Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process.
- Documentation of all processes and workflows.
- Develop and implement EHR clinical templates, document templates, maintenance procedures, monitor system health, gather system statistics, and troubleshoot reported errors.
- Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.
- Design training curriculum and assist in training new hires and existing users in new workflows.
- Assist with CI helpdesk support as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a Master’s degree program in health informatics or 4 years experience working with EHR and related Health IT systems.
- Strong analytic and reasoning skills with proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into usable solutions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Able to communicate with end users and clearly explain technical terminology to non-technical individuals.
- Experience with SQL database programming
- Experience with Nextgen Enterprise EHR and PM systems is preferred.
