Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Director will support the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to enhance decision-making processes within the healthcare organization. This role will oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data to support clinical, operational, and financial objectives. This role will oversee the development and design of the data warehouse, secure external data communications, and the systems and tools for data distribution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Analytics, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, Software Engineering or other relevant field; Masters preferred.
- 5 years of experience in analytics, data science, statistics, or business intelligence role at health care organization.
- 2 Years of management experience of a technical workforce.
Skills
- Experience in leading, mentoring and guiding a technical team.
- Experience in designing data storage systems and data modeling.
- Experience in data warehouse design and management.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical information clearly to non-technical staff.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, Power BI, SSRS, Python, SQL.

- Experience with healthcare medical, billing and financial data and data models.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage a high performing Business Intelligence team providing mentorship and professional development.
- Foster a culture of data driven decisions.
- Coordinate report requests for the department, distribute projects to the team and set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Perform technical review of code.
- Perform quality checks on team projects.
- Perform technical training and process training to the technical team.
- Support / write / revise policies and procedures related to departmental tasks and other policies related to data processing.
- Collaborate with departments and staff to develop KPI, reports, dashboards, tools to support operational goals.
- Oversee the collection storage, and management of healthcare data from different sources.
- Ensure departmental compliance with healthcare regulation (HIPAA, Joint Commission, HRSA)
- Create and maintain reports, dashboard, scripts, systems, and database servers.
- Engage with external partners and vendors to communicate data and enhance data capabilities for the organization.
- Periodically provide training to managers and staff to improve data literacy, data usage, and reporting system usage.
- Participate in Revenue Cycle Committees, Productivity Committee, Quality Committee and other assigned committee assignments.
- Support external audits requiring reports and analysis.
- Support the design and long-term implementation and growth of the data warehouse, data marts, and data systems.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
