DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

A Registered Professional Nurse who functions under the Manager of House Supervision and Vice President of Patient Care Services serving as the administrative representative of the hospital and management on weekends, holidays, 3-11 and 11-7 shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license, BSN preferred.
-
CPR, ACLS & PALS certifications required, or must obtain PALS within 6 months of hire. TNS preferred.

Successful charge nurse experience preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge and practice of the nursing process, new trends and techniques in nursing.

Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.

Skilled in IV access and obtaining ABG's.
-
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Course (NRP) preferred.
-
NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800 required by end of orientation. 300 and 400 preferred.

DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.

Works effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy.

Demonstrates leadership and teaching ability.

Possesses the ability to work under pressure.

Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
