The Morris-Jumel Mansion Museum is Manhattan's oldest private residence, built in 1765, located in the historic Harlem Heights area of New York City. The Mansion served as the summer estate to British Colonel Roger Morris and his wife Mary Philipse during the American Revolution. General George Washington used the mansion as his headquarters, and it has witnessed significant historical events.
Role Description
- This is a temporary on-site role for a C.A.S.A Museum Educator located in New York, NY at the Morris-Jumel Mansion Museum. The Educator will be responsible for leading engaging workshops, projects and field trips tailored for middle school students from the end of April to mid June, fostering creativity and curiosity throughout activities, and helping students plan and construct a final exhibit of their projects
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching or leading educational programs for children.
- Background in history, arts, education, or related fields.
- Passion for engaging students with cultural and historical content in innovative ways.
- Fluent Spanish speaker
