Purpose:
CAD Technicians will work with an experienced team of engineers, surveyors, designers, & technicians to produce various types of drawings, maps, and layouts for pipeline projects. This is an entry-level position that will carry out routine drafting assignments using AutoCAD. This position requires attention to detail and sound computer skills. CAD Technicians are expected to continuously learn and develop their skills.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD to create, edit, and maintain engineering design drawings and survey maps.
- Utilize Microsoft Office to create, edit, and maintain various types of spreadsheets and documents.
- Maintain client-specific CAD standards and workspace.
- Printing/Reproduction – Print and reproduce documents of various sizes utilizing MPH printers, plotters, scanners, and copiers.
- Communication – Participate in CAD training sessions. Learn to efficiently utilize software and techniques that will allow the department to produce higher quality drawings & maps efficiently.
- Gathering Information – Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant resources.
Qualifications:
- Associate 's Degree or 2 years of experience in a related field
- Basic/Introductory understanding of CAD Software & Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to learn and attention to detail
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
