As a Remote Sensing Technician (RST) your primary duties are to ensure accurate field data collection of remote sensing data. The RST will work within a survey team using technologies such as GPS, hydrographic surveying, UAS aerial surveying (drone), and/or other remote sensing technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists with hydrographic and marine survey planning, field data collection, and basic QA/QC data processing.
• Assists with remote aircraft operations from pre-planning to flight operations and collection of LiDAR, photogrammetry, video, thermal, etc.
• Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots surveying system hardware, computers, and software.
• Complete field service reports, maintain equipment logs, and documentation for clients and other team members.
• Works aboard various marine vessels from skiffs, airboats, and work boats.
• Develops and follows plans, specifications, procedures and promotes safe work practices.
• Perform shop tasks including the repair, cleaning, and preparation of equipment.
• Ensure safe use of company vehicles, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Candidate will be expected to develop skills and advance in growing technologies.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications (entry level):
· Technical experience and/or fluency in field data collection on computers/equipment, troubleshooting, data analysis, or other similar types of work.
· Process oriented behavioral traits include being steady, helpful, analytical, a problem solver, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.
· Ability to research project details and review survey plans, drawings, and documents. (Knowledge of CAD, GIS, Google Earth, etc. would be a plus)
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, conduct fieldwork in variety of weather conditions and terrain.
· Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
· Background screening which may include, but is not limited to employment verification, driving record check, criminal background.
· Flexibility to frequent regional travel, sometimes required to remain on prolonged projects out of state.
