What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laminator Operator position at Morris Packaging Minnesota?
Position Summary : As a Laminator Operator, you will be responsible for the setup of the laminating machine, performing safety checks, and ensuring the proper materials are in place. You will operate the laminating machine, maintain the rollers and materials, read and interpret job tickets and specifications, input the correct settings, monitor equipment, and troubleshoot any problems that arise during operation of the laminating machine.
Essential Functions :
- Set-up & run high quality product at optimum speeds without supervision
- Ability to load and unload rolls on / off the press with proper labeling and tracking
- Quality checks of every roll to maintain adhesive weights
- Inspect glue – make sure it meets specifications
- Ability to clean up machine
- Secure laminated rolls together and secure the rolls to a pallet for shipping
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness to keep machine operable
- Responsible for condition of machine and work area
- Maintain housekeeping standards
- Work safely at all times.
Competencies :
Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate-controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights.
Physical Demands : The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position. Days, nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
Travel : Should not be required.
