Your purpose:
As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for the set-up and high-quality running on a Flexo press at an optimum speed without supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Set-up & run high quality on gearless sleeve press at optimum speeds without supervision.
- Ability to tone colors of solvent ink.
- Assemble and adjust doctor blade chambers.
- Adjust press to maximize run speed.
- Load and unload print sleeves from press, storage rack and rolls of material from press.
- Check ink viscosity.
- Ability to clean ink pumps.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine for any malfunctions or irregularities and address quality issues in cooperation with Quality Control staff.
- Must be able to oversee and train press assistant and in completing responsibilities.
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness to keep machine operable.
- Ability to maintain housekeeping for the press and workstation.
- Responsible for condition of machine and work area.
- Work safely always.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate[1]controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
- Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
- Good eyesight, normal hearing.
- Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position on Nights working 12-hour rotating shifts (6:00pm-6:00am). Nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
Licenses and Certifications: None.
Required Education and Experience:
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- High School diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Packaging Industry experience a plus.
- Capable of multi-tasking the operation of production.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has supervisory responsibilities.
