Your purpose:
To contribute to the success of our customers by ensuring daily production line output meets or exceeds the production schedule and meets quality requirements. This position is also responsible for management of all employees on the floor during their shift including performance, attendance, coaching and corrective action.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for participating in setting and obtaining production output goals for all machines.
- Enforce optimal line speed and suggest adjustments to personnel placement as required.
- Effectively communicate with incoming and outgoing shifts as related to the optimal running of our production.
- Assist operators in obtaining maximum production throughput with minimal downtime.
- Assist operators in diagnosing complex machine issues.
- When applicable, work with maintenance staff, outside contractors, etc. to resolve issues.
- Promote a positive environment among production employees.
- Coordinate all hourly training activities for shift employees in current best practices.
- Proactively guide and assist in troubleshooting production machine problems.
- Utilize “line stop” mentality when it comes to equipment or quality issues.
- Reports on performance issues with production staff to management for further evaluation.
- Respond to “line stop” issues. Assist operators, maintenance, and quality control to correct the issue whether with equipment of quality.
- Demonstrate and train line change over activities making sure they occur in the minimum time with 100% readiness.
- Report continuous or major problems to the manager immediately.
- Troubleshoot line issues as needed.
- Ensure equipment cleaned daily to MPM standards.
- Ensure required production reports and any other required paperwork is completed accurately and by the end of shift.
- Ensure production supplies are in stock.
- Manage employee attendance and timecard reporting per company policies.
- Conduct 90-day and yearly performance reviews and recommend the promotion of personnel as needed for business changes.
- Manage production staffing levels as instructed by management.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Comply with Safe Quality Food and Safety standards by maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Responsible for training new operators.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of MPM quality standard as it relates to production.
- Demonstrate and train all requirements to ensure a high level of quality.
- Proactively interface with MPM’s quality department to bring up and resolve quality issues.
- Ensure all employees are trained and adhering to MPM safety standards.
- Identify, report, and resolve safety issues.
- Provide technical feedback to the supervisor and or engineering on improvement to MPM’s continuous process improvement.
- Promote a positive environment among production employees.
- Train and provide feedback for all the above.

Required Education and Experience:
- Make decisions based on business needs.
- Minimum 5 years in flexible packaging and/or flexographic printing.
- Ability to train employees in all aspects of manufacturing processes with a high skill level.
- Ability to learn and apply processes with a high level of skill.
- The ability to learn and understand reporting software.
- Requires specific knowledge of a production environment.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Troubleshoot complex issues with equipment operation.
- Capable of multi-tasking the operation of production.
Work Environment: While performing this job's duties, the employee will be mainly in an office environment and our climate-controlled facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Position will require occasional visits to plant floor that is subject to vibration, equipment noise leading to a loud environment and cleaning solvents. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights.
Physical Demands: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, sit for extended periods of time, and lift 20-40 pounds of office supplies. Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, fingers, with the ability to feel and reach with hands and arms will also be required.

- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
- Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
- Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
- Good eyesight, normal hearing.
- Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position on rotating 12-hour shifts. Hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. Day Shift is 6am-6pm and Night Shift is 6pm-6am. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
