What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend Only Recreation Leader position at Morris Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center?
Morris Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center located in the Pelham Gardens section of the Bronx is seeking a part-time Recreation Leader for weekends only (Saturday & Sunday from 11am -7pm with occasional weeknights and holidays as needed. Applicants must have previous experience working in a Long-Term Care setting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Plan, organize and lead a wide variety of recreational activities programs
· Escort and/or transport resident to/from activities as needed
· Assist in decorating for parties, special events and seasonal occasions
· Record resident attendances in activities
· Complete assigned paperwork in a timely manner
· Provide sensory stimulation
Qualifications
Available to work every Saturday and Sunday
· Recreation Experience in Long Term Care setting
· Dependable
· Wanting to further their knowledge in the aspects of resident’s quality of life.
· Must be flexible in work schedule
· Must be proficient and have an intermediate level in computer skills
· Must be energetic, upbeat and have a positive attitude towards other
