Job Goal : Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing complex IT systems within the organization, ensuring their stability, efficiency, and security by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and managing updates to meet the needs of the district.
Qualifications :
Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully overseeing network systems and LAN and WAN infrastructure, including proficiency with Cisco and Meraki.
Convey accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism in all responsibilities.
Possess strong engineering skills to develop plans, select appropriate resources, and meet project requirements matching system architecture requirements.
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain complex concepts and gather requirements.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, database management, virtualization technologies, and cloud computing platforms.
Comprehensive knowledge of Disaster Recovery principles for critical infrastructure and proper procedures for capturing, storing, and restoration of backups.
Analyzes system performance metrics and implements improvements in efficiency including cost savings and effective ROI of capital resources.
Develops and conducts regular cross-training with appropriate personnel to facilitate operational resiliency of system engineering and operations.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and system management tasks.
Remains relevant and up-to-date on practical and cost-effective security practices and principles to present upgrades and changes to systems as appropriate to management.
Extensive experience working with Active Directory and Cisco ISE.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; however, in lieu of a formal degree, a combination of a technical certification or degree and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in managing large, complex networks may be considered.
If not currently certified, candidates will be required to obtain a recognized network or cybersecurity certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , CISSP, or equivalent) within one (1) year of employment.
Valid state driver's license and daily access to a vehicle for transportation between locations.

Specific Duties :
- Oversees the administration of all networking hardware including switches, routers, wireless environment, and firewalls to ensure robust and secure connectivity.
- Oversees the administration of all devices attached to the network including servers, cloud core infrastructure services, end-user devices, Active Directory, and other management and monitoring systems.
- Creates and manages user accounts, manages user permissions and access levels to network resources, implements password policies and enforces security best practices.
- Installs and manages software updates and patches on network-attached devices to maintain security and stability.
- Conducts regular system and infrastructure service reviews to provide suggestions for improvement, modernization, and increased efficiencies.
- Maintains comprehensive network documentation including network diagrams, configuration details, and procedures.
- Conducts Project Management of related projects as assigned.
- Provides engineering support and input on the architecture for all systems and services.
- Provides elevated technical support as required and coordinates with vendors and other support resources to resolve issues as assigned.
- Reviews and provides guidance and suggestions for improved security policies, practices, and procedures for the network and all attached devices.
- Completes other tasks or related work assigned by the Technology Infrastructure Supervisor.
Term of Employment :
12 months, full-time position.
