Are you looking for a career and not simply a job? Morris-Shea Bridge Company has an excellent opportunity for a Rebar Fabrication Manager that is responsible for supervision of fabrication personnel to include Safety, production and quality control.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Manage complex projects with project superintendents and project management teams to supply multiple fabricated rebar products to support projects. Manage vendors to ensure raw materials are available and accurate.
Your Responsibilities
- Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate fabrication efforts to ensure that we supply products and services in the safest and most cost effective and efficient manner.
- Oversee resources to ensure the rebar fabricated fulfills contractual obligations for projects.
- Schedule the fabrication and delivery of required products with the project superintendent.
- Work with the estimating team to ensure the accuracy of bids.
- Responsible for controlling the cost of the rebar fabrication department.
- Work with team members to maximize efficiency and create products that support the end user and meet the design requirements.
- Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Ability to define and prevent problems by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Monitors shop performance, safety, quality, errors, and workmanship
- Ensures team members have the tools and training necessary to do the job.
- Administers constant workflow and manages work schedules.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
- At least five years’ experience as a rebar detailer and/or demonstrated construction project management experience.
- Hands-on working knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
- Create and implement data driven programs and KPI’s for production management.
- Travel to shop visits will be required.
- Ability to apply ACI codes and CRSI standards required.
- Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously and manage time/meet deadlines.
- Work schedule may include hours beyond the normal business day.
