Job Overview
As an IT Field Engineer, you will support dental practices across the Southwest Florida market. This hybrid role allows for remote work with occasional on-site visits to dental offices. Candidates must reside in Southwest Florida to ensure proximity to practice locations.
You will be responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting a variety of IT systems, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, routers, and network infrastructure. In this role, you’ll address and resolve technical challenges while managing multiple projects and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot end-user IT issues related to dental practice hardware, software, and applications.
- Deploy computer hardware, advanced clinical systems, and Windows-based applications.
- Manage user access, incidents, service interruptions, and planned downtimes, while documenting and communicating processes to ensure consistent user experiences.
- Identify trends in recurring issues, collaborate with internal teams and vendors, and implement permanent solutions.
- Communicate ongoing issues and provide interim solutions to minimize disruption until full resolution.
- Adhere to downtime protocols, document incidents, and escalate problems as necessary.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers through prompt, efficient, and professional service.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other data security standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and securing operational data.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years of IT support experience, with exposure to multi-site or healthcare environments.
- Proficiency in deploying operating systems and managing Active Directory.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on quick, effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact at all staff and management levels.
- A friendly, customer-focused attitude with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable.
- Ability to provide both remote and on-site technical support, including real-time issue resolution. (Mileage reimbursement provided for travel.)
Preferred:
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, and network security.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune/Autopilot.
- Familiarity with dental or healthcare environments.
- Hands-on experience with PAN equipment such as Planmeca, Sidexis 2D/3D, or Carestream 2D/3D.
- Knowledge of dental office software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, PracticeWorks, or SoftDent.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and data security standards specific to healthcare.
