M-F 8am-4:30pm
Job Summary
Admits all patients authorized by physicians, through the admitting process. Gathers pertinent information and authorizations to start flow of information; record keeping, patient treatment, charging system, billing and collection process. Gathers patient valuables. Answers and routes incoming calls, assisting with in house and outgoing calls. Supplies general information and direction. Ages of patients served ranged from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Essential Functions
- Admits patients authorized by physicians, through the admitting process.
- Gathers pertinent information and authorizations to start flow of information; record keeping, patient treatment, charging system, billing and collection process.
- Discusses advance directives, financial assistance forms, durable power of attorney.
- Gathers patient valuables.
- Answers and routes incoming calls, assisting with in house and outgoing calls.
- Supplies general information and direction.
- Demonstrates proficiency on office equipment including computer, fax machine, forms printer, calculator, phone system, copier, paper shredder, and switchboard.
- Responds to code calls according to departmental procedures.
- Follows procedure for overhead paging.
- Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Morrison Community Hospital.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to maintain a calm professional manner in stressful situations.
- Must type a minimum of 45 wpm accurately.
- Must be able to keep basic records and statistics.
- Must have knowledge of filing systems.
- Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring
Compensation:
Pay Range $15.45-$21.96 per hour base
