**Job Summary**
District Ocean Export Operations Specialist will perform district ocean export operations and provide all associated documentation. The role requires close collaboration with sales and account managers to respond promptly to customer needs.
The incumbent will be responsible for communicating effectively with customers, carriers, and other offices/agencies. They will coordinate bookings and documentation with carriers/co-loaders, shippers, and sales personnel or offices.
Main Responsibilities:
- Originate accurate documentation with Shipper's Letter of Instruction (SLI) and/or Letter of Credit.
- Verify shipper/consignee marks and numbers, weight, volume, dimensions, inland cartage, and freight charges/goods description/clauses and delivery terms.
- Ensure accurate billing by completing accounting procedures and data entries properly.
- Complete outbound moves, including ITs and permits to transfer.
- Obtain necessary documents and charges prior to releasing freight.
- Trace lost freight and shortages; follow up with shipping lines and inform involved stations/agents.
- File preliminary notices of claim.
- Ensure each file contains necessary documentation in correct sequence.
Requirements:
- SOME COLLEGE OR AA DEGREE from an accredited college.
- MIMUM 1-2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in F/F Ocean operations processes and procedures.
- PROVEN ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH CLIENTS AND VENDORS.
- ATTENTION TO DETAIL, DEADLINE-ORIENTED, DEPENDABLE, PERSISTENCE, TIME MANAGEMENT, INDEPENDENT, DOCUMENTATION SKILLS, SCHEDULING AND REPORTING SKILLS.
- ABILITY TO MULTI-TASK AND PRIORITIZE IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT, WHILE EXERCISING SOUND JUDGMENT.
- ABILITY TO THINK CREATIVELY AND STRATEGICALLY TO SOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS.
