Elementary Ministry Assistant Opening
The Children’s Ministry is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Children’s Ministry team as a full-time Elementary Ministry Assistant. This position will report directory to the Director of Children’s Ministry. As Elementary Assistant, they will perform a variety of leadership, organization, and administrative tasks that support and nurture the spiritual formation of children first through sixth grade. The Children’s Ministry Elementary Assistant will also partner with the Director of Children’s Ministry to assist with facilitating new ideas, growing the ministry, ministering to parents, and communicating effectively among the Elementary Ministry’s leaders and parents. The position requires a strong heart’s desire and love for ministering to children and families.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY ELEMENTARY ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose:
The Children’s Ministry Elementary Assistant will perform a variety of leadership, organization, and administrative tasks that support the spiritual formation of children and families. The Children’s Ministry Elementary Assistant will also partner with the Director of Children’s Ministry to assist with facilitating new ideas, growing the ministry, ministering to parents, and communicating effectively among the children’s ministries’ leaders and parents for ministry to children, first through sixth grade.

Availability
- Sunday through Thursday. Weekends as needed for special events.
- Sunday mornings on rotation or as needed, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings.
- Special children’s or church-wide events.
Responsibilities
- Help carry out the vision for the Children’s Ministry.
- Assist with recruiting leaders and volunteers.
- Print, sort, organize, and lay out weekly curriculum.
- Assemble leader binders and resources.
- Plan crafts and activities for weekly lessons.
- Order supplies.
- Teach Sunday morning large groups on rotation.
- Schedule volunteers.
- Assist in monitoring after-hour calls, volunteer schedule changes, and re-scheduling volunteers as needed.
- Maintain classrooms.
- Attend Children’s Ministry parent and leader meetings/events.
- Support and help with large children’s and special church-wide events which include children.
- Assist with maintaining the Elementary Ministry social media groups.
- Assist in the enlistment, training, and encouragement of the Elementary Ministry leadership.
- Assist with receptionist duties one hour each week in main office.
