Morristown Beard School seeks a dynamic and dedicated full-time History teacher for grades 9-12 for the 2025-2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and exhibit a progressive, multidisciplinary, and collaborative approach in the classroom. The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate expertise in historical practice and a rich knowledge of specialized content area
- Be willing to teach a range of history courses in grades 9-12
- Differentiate instruction based on feedback, needs, and learning levels
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate and communicate readily with colleagues
- Communicate effectively with students and families about student progress
- Identify and support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral learning needs
- Engage actively in school life by participating in clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities
Responsibilities:
- Teach 4 classes
- Act as an advisor
- Support the School’s activities program
- Rotate through supervisory duties, such as detention, dismissal, study hall, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
- Professional alignment with the mission and values of MBS
