Deputy Recorder

Job Summary
The Morrow County Recorder's Office is seeking a Deputy Recorder. Under the general direction of the County Recorder, assist and maintain land records pertaining to ownership and liens upon it, to safe keep permanent land records and make them accessible to the public.

Duties

• Record and index land records, e.g. deed, mortgage liens and releases.
• Record various items, e.g. federal tax liens, leases, and soldiers’ discharge records.
• Process E-file documents.
• Scan documents.
• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Browse documents and mail back to provider.
• Interact with the public, e.g. counter, phone and public requests.
• Collect business payments.
• Balance money drawer.
• Process Veteran Identification cards.
• Process mail.
• Process special reports.
• Perform back up to computer on daily basis.
• Perform all other duties as assigned. .

Essential:

• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge of deed, legal and real estate terminology.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret reference material to include the Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Recorder’s standardization guidelines and various policy and operation manuals.
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
