Morse Clinic Job Description
Job Title: Safety and Security Monitor
Reports To: Program Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Responsible for providing a visual security presence inside the building and parking lot. Ensures Morse Clinics patients and staff members have a safe and pleasant experience during business hours. Run errands such as: drops off FedEx packages to mail center and maintain/order supplies when needed. Available for being back up front desk when personnel are out sick, on break and during meetings. Maintains order and cleanliness of lobby and parking lot. Reports and documents all behavior problems and incidents. Assists with the running of quarterly drills, security alarm checks and checks fire extinguishers, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Parking lot patrol- Conducts hourly rounds in the parking lot and sides of buildings to prevent loitering.
  • Enforces clinic policies with patients. (Dress code)
  • Checks fire exits to make sure they are free of obstacles, inspects fire extinguishers to make sure inspections are up to date, holds safety drills/alarm drills, and monitors cameras when the lobby is not crowded.
  • Admits and checks in and out visitors/vendors and makes sure they sign in and out. (Guest sign in notebook)
  • Connects delivery drivers to appropriate staff members.
  • Responsible for being familiar with and understanding the business’ safety plan and evacuation procedures and carries out emergency procedures as necessary. Controls crowds as required within the building and sidewalk.
  • Secures the business’ entrances and exits at the end of operating hours.
  • Check patients’ bathrooms to make sure it is not occupied, light is off and locked.
  • Runs the front desk when a staff member is out sick, goes on breaks, in a meeting, etc.
  • Monitors hallways, lobby and nursing area.
  • Picks up trash in the parking lot and lobby. Empty trash at the end of the day and take it to the dump out back.
  • Sweeps halls and takes trash out when full and at the end of the day.
  • Refills water pitchers in the lobby and in the nursing station.
  • Completes internal incident reports.
  • Responsible for greeting applicants and clients, notifying staff members when someone is waiting in the reception area, answering the telephone, and general clerical and filing duties as assigned by the Program Director.*
  • Cross training on basic front desk duties. (Check in of patients, collection of money, running end of day report)
  • Responsible for other duties required by the Program Director.*
  • Confidentiality (HIPAA) and abides by 42 CFR Part 2

Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps including Google Drive, Methasoft and security monitoring station and camera.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Training:
Experience in the security field is required.
Certificates and Licenses:
CPI within 30 days of hire, provided by employer

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, follow detailed procedures, and have good customer service skills.

  • Ability to function as a member of a team and participate in team meetings
  • Attendance and punctuality at work- Expectation is to arrive 30 minutes prior to business opening.
  • Ability to structure time and organize other duties
  • Professional demeanor, ability to communicate with patients and de-escalate situations in a calm manner
