What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at Morse Hill Outdoor Education Center?
Morse Hill Outdoor Education Center is looking for energetic and enthusiastic Senior Camp Counselors (age 21 ) to lead groups of children and teens in team building initiatives, ropes course activities, and other outdoor experiences as part of our Rattlesnake Adventure Camps. Morse Hill is an 85-acre year-round outdoor center in Shutesbury, MA that has been running summer camps and outdoor adventure programs for area youth and community members since 1999.
The Senior Camp Counselor role includes leading groups of campers on site and in the surrounding areas as either part of our Intro Camp, Day Camp or Specialty Camps hiking, canoeing, rock-climbing, rappelling, and mountain biking along with low- and high-ropes course activities. Our ideal candidate has outdoor experience with kids and is skilled in interpersonal communication and team-building facilitation. First Aid/CPR certification preferred, and ropes course/belay certification is a plus, but we will train the right candidates. We're currently looking for applicants who are over 21 years of age.
Summer camp training begins on 6/16 and employment goes through August 22. Daily hours are approximately 8:30 to 5. Full summer commitment preferred, but there’s some flexibility.
