SUMMARY
The Lifestyle Assistant will oversee the daily operations of activities and programming.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Monitors and evaluates programs and activities within department to ensure volunteers are following processes and meet expectations for Activities.
- Coordinates between activities staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Arranges the common area set-ups for Activities. Coordinates with set-up team from housekeeping and culinary.
- Maintains adequate supplies, equipment, documents, paper, ink, etc. May need to requisition supplies with program director approval.
- Flexible work schedule; including but not limited to evenings and weekends.
- Serve as backup on other units as needed.
- Attends interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
- Diffuse crisis or situations when they arise.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Each person in this position will act as the Charge Activity representative in the Activity
Directors' absence.
QUALIFICATIONS
(EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a long-term health care setting, or mental health setting; direct care of seniors who have all types of dementia. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) also required.
