The position of Medical Assistant (Back Office) requires the ability to collaborate with all staff, strong IV/venipuncture skills including an IV Certification, the ability to multi-task and prioritize, and most importantly, people are approached as individuals with needs, not just patients. Everyone is treated with a tailored Total Healing approach for the radical transformation of mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
We seek a Medical Assistant (Back Office) to assist in all aspects of patient care with a focus on IV placement. This person will also be a primary contributor to our positive medical office culture that includes both staff and patients.
Duties include the following:
- Preparing and maintaining the patient exam and washrooms, Infrared Sauna room (assist as needed), IV rooms and the nursing station area
- Preparing nutritional items for patients (power protein smoothies, bone broth, etc.)
- Providing assistance and comfort tools to patients (washroom, blankets, pillows, hot water bottle, etc.)
- Maintaining and managing back office medical supplies and food inventory list
- Recording patient in-take, including vital signs and physical examinations
- Preparing, assisting, executing, and managing lab draw, collection of blood samples and appropriate preparation for transfer to the main Laboratories
- Under the direction of physician, IV Infusion Insertion
- Under the direction of physician, following up on patient lab reports and relaying the findings to patients
- Reporting the status of patients to doctor
- Opening and closing nursing area, including cleaning procedures
- Additional duties within the scope of Medical Assistant Certification
Experience/Education Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED Certificate
· Current unrestricted certification as a Medical Assistant in State of Nevada
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Experience that reflects strong IV/venipuncture skills
- Certificate in IV Therapy for Medical Assistants
