Job Description
This Civil Estimator I - Remote position involves creating detailed project estimates, soliciting trade partners, and preparing proposal comparisons. The successful candidate will work closely with the lead estimator to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Responsibilities
- Create project estimates with precision and accuracy
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and summations of materials
- Obtain bid estimates from trade partners and prepare vendor proposal comparisons
- Organize and coordinate Request for Proposal documents and schedules
- Determine pricing options and select the best fit for the project
- Assist lead estimator in data input into estimating software programs
- Archive filing and historical cost data gathering
- Participate in plan and estimate review meetings, site investigations, and other project review meetings as needed
Requirements
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Current driver's license
- Strong analytical skills
- Mathematical skills
- Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field
