Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator II to join our Power Delivery Services Group. The successful candidate will provide leadership, coordination, and final preparation of estimates for a wide range of project types and sizes.
As an Electrical Estimator, you will work with project leads, customers, and internal and external designers to fully understand the electrical scope of projects and create a budget that aligns with this scope. You will also be instrumental in finding effective design and cost solutions to enable these projects to move forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in project pursuit kickoff and strategy meetings
- Build Project Estimates – Conceptual, budget, and detailed
- Complete quantity take-offs and summations of materials
- Help prepare Request for Proposal documents and schedules
- Determine pricing options and the appropriate price for the project
- Data input into estimating software program(s)
- Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
- Participate in plan and estimate review meetings
- Gather information from local government and private entities
- Manage Addendum logs and documents from customers/clients
- Solicit new bidders when needed
- Provide training and mentoring to other estimators and interns
Requirements:
- Minimum three-year power transmission, distribution, and substation construction experience
- Experience with power, transmission, distribution, and substation electrical estimating and/or electrical industry experience
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks
- Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
