Job Summary:

Provides counseling services to assist patients in overcoming substance use and abuse problems. Counseling may be provided as stand-alone therapy or in combination with therapy in group settings. Responsible for developing and monitoring the patient’s individualized treatment plan progress throughout the course of treatment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leads individual and group counseling sessions.
• Enlists the principles and processes of active listening while assessing the ability, personality, and behavioral and affective disorders of the patient.
• Understands and utilizes the knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation to assess and assist patients with chemical dependency.
• Works closely with staff Psychiatrist when developing and monitoring individual treatment plans and care coordination.
• Provides counseling therapy to patients as appropriate to their individual need.
• Consistently maintains a patient panel capacity of greater than 90%.
• Participates in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills in current treatment concepts and methods as required by the State of Oklahoma to maintain licensure.

Job Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in related health field required.
• Two (2) or more years’ experience in mental health services counseling with an interest in dependency counseling.
• Must pass a State of Oklahoma Background Check
• Current BLA/CPR certification.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a professional team.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and the public.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Required to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a clinic environment
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds; and occasionally up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Possess the ability to bend, lift, and climb stairs.
• Work may involve some exposures to operating circumstances that require following standard or prescribed safety precautions.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
