What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Lab Technician position at Morton Salt, Inc?

- Conduct quality inspections of equipment, materials, and processes.
- Conduct routine HACCP (FSP) inspections.
- Conduct plant inspections of both product and processes, as prescribed by Quality Manager.
- Perform calibration of laboratory and foreign material detection equipment, where applicable.
- Complete analytical test method validation studies.
- Responsible for analytical testing of in-process and finished product testing according to prescribed procedures and logging of data into database.
- Test incoming materials and ingredients according to testing schedule.
- Performs all duties in safe manner observing all EHS standards and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Performs and maintains legible records of preventative maintenance for all laboratory equipment on prescribed basis.
- Maintain QC document storage and backup system.
- Provide back-up support for other Quality technicians on an as needed basis (including vacation/absence coverage).
- Will work rotating weekends
