Job Summary
The jobholder has the primary responsibility for our logistics payables program and will handle the processing and auditing of all logistics payments. The jobholder will collaborate with various business areas to identify areas of opportunities and improvement. Success in this position is primarily measured by cost control and timely handling of our logistics payables to our vendors and the ability to work with other departments on related projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as point of contact for logistics suppliers for both internal and external parties related to invoice status questions or logistics payables issues.
- Lead continuous improvement through ownership of the business rules used for processing invoices.
- Track, measure, and improve on KPIs and trends using financial reports.
- Lead meetings with a cross-functional team of internal/external stakeholders to identify, root cause, and resolve top payment discrepancies.
- Monitor root causes and find solutions for payment issues and discrepancies, and coordinate solutions for payment issues with our logistics suppliers.
- Recommend changes for invoice review and processing.
- Interface independently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Monitor shipment status to ensure timely resolution of shipment where payment is being delayed.
- Assist in providing financial information for Logistics OS&D program
- Support internal projects focusing on continuous improvement, with a focus on eliminating waste, reducing cost, and driving performance with our logistics suppliers.
- Identify, document, and escalate areas of logistics cost savings opportunities on an ongoing basis
- Any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with preference towards Business, Logistics, Operations Management or 3 years of experience in Logistics Payables, Transportation, Supply Chain, Operations and/or Project Management.
- Experience with SAP, Transportation Management Systems, Business Warehouse (BW) or similar reporting packages, databases, and analytical tools highly preferred.
- Experience with Transportation Payables highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits confidence and ability to interact with various levels both internally & externally.
- Able to work independently as well as across functional or matrix team structures.
- Strong analytical skills with high level of organization, follow-through, & accuracy. Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to develop knowledge of the business while serving as the primary point of contact for the assigned area of responsibility.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong track record for execution and follow-through when managing critical deadlines.
- Displays great integrity, trust, and an interest in learning about the industry.
