We Are A Family Owned Mortuary Transport Company Seeking Full Time - On-Call Transporter Drivers for Mortuary and Medical Examiners Removals. Must have a Clean Driving Record. Must be Reliable, Presentable, Responsible, and Respectful.

This position is delivering and receiving human remains. We are looking for a dependable, responsible driver to transport deceased humans from medical facilities, residential homes, funeral homes, and funeral establishments. A valid NC driver’s license with no infractions is required. No experience preferred, must be comfortable with directly handling deceased human beings. Applicants must be well-groomed and appropriately dressed while making removals (business attire at a minimum). Applicants must be available to make removals at all times unless previously cleared for time off. Applicants need to be personable, professional, prompt, and be able to take & execute directions well. Response time is critical; 5 minutes phone response time & 20 minutes road response time (some calls may be preset where response time is inapplicable). All transporters should be familiar with GPS and follow navigational directions. Applicants should also be physically fit to the extent of being able to physically (once trained) move deceased human remains, often with no assistance. Assistance will be provided when necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Transport the deceased from clinical environments (i.e. hospitals, nursing homes, etc), residences, and funeral homes
• Maintain professional appearance and representation at all times
• Must treat the deceased with dignity and respect at all times
• Must be able to problem-solve and assess situations on-scene and determine the best course of action
• Clean and service company vehicles as needed (through our vendors)
• Be available 24 hours a day for a flexible on-call schedule
• Maintain a clean driving record while underemployment
• You must be insurable through our automobile insurance
• You must have reliable transportation and cell phone service
• You must submit to a background check

Qualifications and Skills

• You must be compassionate
• You must have excellent communication and customer service skills
• You must be able to lift 100 lbs alone
• You must have a good driving record and have a valid drivers license
• You must not have had any DUI's or DWI's in the past 10 years
• As a public representative of our establishment and other funeral homes, you must have nice business attire and be able to conduct yourself in a business manner while representing our establishment and other funeral homes
• You must be able to handle graphic situations with care and respect
• You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work days, nights, and weekends
• You must be able to work well with a variety of different people and work well alone
