Overview
We are seeking an experienced Custom Framer with a strong background in saw operation and trim carpentry to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating custom frames with precision and skill, incorporating carpentry techniques to deliver top-notch results. The ideal candidate will have a blend of framing expertise and carpentry skills, including proficiency with various saws and trim work.
Key Responsibilities
- Frame Design and Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their framing needs and preferences. Provide expert advice on frame styles, materials, and design options that best complement their artwork.
- Saw Operation: Utilize various saws, including miter saws and table saws, to cut frame components accurately. Ensure precise measurements and cuts to meet quality standards.
- Trim Carpentry: Apply trim carpentry skills to craft and finish frames. Work with different types of wood and materials to create custom designs that reflect client specifications.
- Glass and Matting: Select and cut glass and matting materials. Properly mount and align artwork to protect and enhance its presentation.
- Frame Assembly: Assemble frames with attention to detail, including fitting and securing joints. Ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of each frame.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed frames for accuracy and finish. Make adjustments and repairs as needed to ensure high-quality results.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate saws and other framing tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to clients throughout the framing process. Address any concerns or adjustments required to ensure client satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Manage and organize framing materials and supplies. Order new materials as needed and keep track of inventory levels.
Qualifications
- Skills: Proficiency with various saws, including miter saws and table saws. Skilled in trim carpentry techniques and frame assembly. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual strength and precision.
- Experience: Experience in custom framing, with a strong background in saw operation and trim carpentry. Demonstrated ability to handle complex framing projects with precision.
