Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher/Owner to implement individualized lesson plans and facilitate engaging activities. You will play a crucial role in supervising students during playtime, assisting with lessons, and providing support to children with special needs. This position requires a nurturing demeanor, patience, and a passion for early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs and interests of each student.
- Supervise and engage with students during playtime, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Facilitate and support various learning activities, including arts and crafts, music, and sensory play.
- Collaborate with therapists and the Lead Teacher to provide additional support for students with special needs, as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, encouraging open communication and collaboration.
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the Lead Teacher for assessment and curriculum adjustments.
- Assist with daily routines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children and families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team and follow the Lead Teacher's guidance.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred but not required.
