- Pay: Starting at 15.76 / hour
- This position greets patients, visitors and ascertains their needs, presenting a professional, courteous appearance. Registers patients timely and accurately online. Follows Patient Access standards to ensure adequate data collection and distribution.
- This position works under the supervision of the Manager and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
- Registers or activates patient accounts timely and accurately, updating if necessary to ensure the integrity of the database, registers medical center outpatient, lab specimens, and emergency room patients.
- Obtains appropriate signatures for the following: Hospital Consent to Treat, Assignment of Insurance Benefits, Notice of Privacy Practice if applicable, Insurance pre-certification arrangements and financial responsibility, this includes contacting family, legal guardian, DPOA, or appropriate person when necessary for consent to treat.
- Must have knowledge of Medicare and Commercial insurance requirements to determine primary and secondary payor information. Distributes Medicare and Tricare Special Messages as required by PRO Review. Provide Medicaid recipients and financial assistance applicants with appropriate financial assistance information.
- Routes patients to ensure proper tests are completed in the correct order to guard against treatment delay. Escorts patients and/or family to ancillary departments.
- Verifies Insurance Eligibility on every patient encounter. Collects deductibles and co-pay amounts from patients upon admission.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Medical Terminology Course preferred.
- One year customer service, medical office background preferred; Typing of 35 wpm required.
