Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Prepress Manager to oversee prepress and digital operations within our commercial print facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in print production, with expertise in file preparation for digital, sheet fed and inkjet web. Experience with InDesign, Printstream, XMPie, Apogee/Prinergy, SCREEN and remote proofing is preferred. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage a team while ensuring high-quality output and adherence to deadlines.
Duties
- Supervise daily operations of the prepress and digital teams, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Oversee the screen printing process, including setup, operation, and maintenance of digital printing presses and prepress proofing devices.
- Lead, train and collaborate with the prepress team on layout, imposition and graphic elements to ensure alignment with client specifications.
- Manage color management processes to maintain consistency and quality across all printed materials.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices including the development of standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations within the production environment.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Bring forward new technology software and equipment to provide the highest level of service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of printing techniques and press operation.
- Proficiency in layout design and graphic design software.
- Familiarity with color management principles and typography best practices.
- Experience in Apogee, SCREEN and remote proofing is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
