- Pay: $17.58 - $25.49 / hour
- This position works very closely with the Community Health Events Coordinator . The WS I assists with Community Health Improvement programs, including the 4th Grade Challenge, Kids in the Kitchen Healthy Cooking Classes, the adult 12 month Healthy Lifestyle Program and any others that are developed. Activities performed can include the following and more: demonstrating exercises, teaching about nutrition, cooking demonstrations and helping children to cook their own food, monthly weigh ins for adults, participating in health fairs, educating volunteers and others that may arise. This position is as needed. Attendance at each session of each program will be expected. Travel to schools in the St. Joseph area is a part of the 4th Grade Challenge Program.
- This position reports to the Manager - Community Health and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
- Assist the Community Health Events Coordinator with the 4th Grade Challenge in Elementary Schools, 8 weeks in the Fall and 8 weeks in the Spring.
- Assist the Community Health Events Coordinator with Kids in the Kitchen Healthy Cooking Classes after school, 8 weeks in the Fall and 8 weeks in the Spring.
- Assist the Community Health Events Coordinator with the Adult Healthy Lifestyle Program, a 12 month program with monthly education sessions and weigh-ins for participants.
- Representation at community health events, such as health fairs and other educational opportunities
- Support the marketing, development and implementation of all community health improvement programs and other duties as assigned.
- All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Professional licensure as required for related discipline. BLS certification required within 90 days from start date.
- 2 years of coordination of health and wellness activities.
