8th Grade Math and Science Teacher (2025-26)

We are looking for a teacher who is able to teach 8th grade math, 8th grade physical science, an elective, and a math remediation course. Our teachers will work with about 60 students in total, allowing for building strong relationships with students and families.

MOSAICS Public School is looking for talented educators with the skills, passion and commitment to help us build STEAM programs from the ground level. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project-based learning and/or science instruction, a playful and professional attitude, and strong classroom management skills. This position will involve a mix of teaching, collaboration, and project development. Your responsibilities will include:

• Crafting and delivering engaging, effective lessons

• Designing and administering rigorous, standards-based assessments and using assessment data to refine curriculum and instruction

• Helping to create a culture of order, structure, humanity, and academic rigor in the classroom and school as a whole

• Frequent communication with students’ families

• Collaborating with other teachers, other school staff, and administrators to ensure that all our students achieve their full potential

Desired Experience, Skills and Mindsets

:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

• Idaho or Out-of-State Teaching Credential with Middle School Subject Area Endorsement in Math and Science

• Excited to work in a start-up school with the flexibility to wear many hats as our organization continues to evolve

• Open to feedback and dedicated to growing and improving your craft as an educator

• Strong initiative and desire to take ownership of the role and the work responsibilities described above

:

• Multiple Middle School Subject Area Endorsements or K-8 All Subjects

• At least 2-3 years of teaching experience (leading hands-on activities in a classroom, after school program, day camp, etc.) with middle school age students

• Familiarity with project-based learning (preferred, though not required)

• Familiarity with foundational engineering concepts (preferred, though not required)

• The ability to manage student projects and personalities

Communication Skills:

Ability to provide general district information and respond to questions from administrators, managers, employees, customers, and/or the general public in a professional and pleasant manner.

Problem Solving Skills:

Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.

Productivity/Efficiency Skills:

Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary; organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frame.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing (Microsoft Office), spreadsheets (Excel), presentation software (PowerPoint), and Google Applications.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside and meets deadlines with severe time constraints in a fast-paced environment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit; occasionally walk and stand and reach with hands and arms; occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision; very good depth perception; and the ability to communicate through speech.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: Educators will earn between $48,175 and $70,181 depending on experience, education, and certification. This salary is based on the 2024-25 salary schedule and may be adjusted higher in 2025-26.
