Job Description

We are seeking an Afternoon/Evening Custodian Worker to join our MOSAICS Public School team! You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with school janitorial work setting. This position will involve customer service, dedication to our mission and desire to work efficiently and interact with our teachers and students.

Expected Hiring Date: Immediately

Hourly pay: Starts at $13.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 30 hours per week / Afternoon/Evening Shift

Responsibilities:

• Completes cleaning methods and procedures, repairs, security, heating and ventilation, care of carpet, cleaning, housekeeping.
• Keep the school buildings in clean and orderly condition
• Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors and shampooing rugs
• Perform cleaning duties such as cleaning bathrooms and vacuum classrooms
• Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment
• Ability to perform long periods of standing; walking;
• Frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally move objects weighing up to 90 pounds
• Ability to operate machinery such as vacuums, scrubbers, carpet cleaning machines, snow blowers, sanders, buffers and other applicable equipment
• Ability to communicate and operate two-way radio
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, to reach above the head and reach forward, to grasp tools
• Ability and willingness to do general cleaning and minor repairs
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
• Available in the afternoon/evening 30 hours per week

• High School Diploma or GED diploma.
• Works well with students and staff
• Self-motivated
• Strong work ethic
• Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skill
• Desire to work efficiently and interact with our teachers and students

Preferred Qualifications:

• Janitorial experience in a school setting
