Job Title: Bus Driver for Morning and After school routes
Reports to: Superintendent
Employment Terms: 161 Driving Days – Approximately 3-4 Hours per day
Salary Schedule: In accordance to Sub per diem pay scale

Position Summary:
The School Bus Driver operates the school buses safely under all types of weather conditions, transporting students and other authorized persons to and from school on regular, special education, and other routes. The school bus operator may make extracurricular trips as authorized by the local school system.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· The bus schedule will vary but is expected to be 6:15am-7:30am AND 3:30pm-4:30pm
· Follow all policies and procedures set for by the Moseley Public School Board of Education
· Transports students/staff over scheduled routes to and from school in a safe and timely manner. Extracurricular trips with prior approval
- Monitors students/staff during transit to ensure the safe transportation of all passengers
- Performs basic first-aid and safety practices
- Reports observations and/or incidents (e.g., discipline, bullying, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) to the superintendent
· Provides safe loading and unloading of students/staff from buses during regular transport and emergencies
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.) to ensure the safe operating condition of the vehicle
- Prepares reports (e.g., field trip reports, incident reports, inspection records, passenger misconduct, mileage logs, student counts, routing information, etc.) documenting activities, providing written reference, conveying information, and/or complying with established guidelines
- Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior, to ensure safety, proper appearance, and sanitation of vehicles, which includes post-trip wipe-downs of the interior of the vehicle due to health or other emergencies and concerns
- Fuels assigned vehicle (e.g., oil, water, fuel, etc.) to maintain the vehicle in a safe operating condition
- Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc., to gather information required to perform job functions
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid Oklahoma CDL driver’s License with a Passenger and School Bus Endorsement
· Ability to pass a background check
· CPR Certified and ability to perform basic first aid
· Good Attendance and Work Record
· Successful completion of an annual physical
· Successful completion of pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
· Requires prolonged sitting
· Requires turning, and reaching
· Requires driving skills, including the ability to operate the vehicle at night
· Must work indoors and outdoors during the school year
· Must work in noisy, crowded, stressful environments, with numerous interruptions
· Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors
