What are the responsibilities and job description for the Control Engineer position at Moseley Technical Services, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement PLC-based control systems for gas turbine power generation and oil & gas applications, including software development, testing, and commissioning.
- Review project designs to ensure alignment with customer requirements outlined in technical specifications, RFQs/RFPs, and purchase orders.
- Create, review, and approve electrical and control system drawings including layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics, block diagrams, and network topologies.
- Develop PLC software based on logic diagrams, control narratives, OEM documentation, P&IDs, and cause & effect matrices.
- Generate technical documentation including Factory/Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT), control specifications, device summaries, operator/user manuals, and maintenance guides.
- Troubleshoot existing PLC programs using historical and real-time data along with customer input.
- Provide site services such as installation supervision, testing, startup, and customer training.
- Follow established engineering standards, project execution guidelines, and quality assurance protocols.
- Travel up to 30–50% for domestic and international fieldwork.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering degree with relevant controls/programming experience considered.
- Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in Electrical, Controls, or Project Engineering roles.
- 3 years of automation experience involving hands-on PLC software development, configuration, and testing.
- Experience with gas turbines such as GE, Westinghouse, Siemens, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, Solar, ABB, or Mitsubishi in power generation or oil & gas industries.
