What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lot Attendant / Porter position at Moses Cadillac GMC of Charleston?
Moses Auto Group is seeking a Lot Attendant to help us manage our inventory so we have clean, organized, and well-merchandised vehicles for our clients. No previous experience necessary, but applicants who are hard-working, detail-oriented self starters with a positive attitude are a good fit for this position.
Responsibilities
- Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Maintain clean cut and professional appearance with Moses Hats and uniform, tucked in shirts, closed toe shoes, no visible tattoos or piercings, and no chains on pants that can scratch cars.
- Details and pulls around vehicles for appointments and deliveries, and maintaining and cleaning stock vehicles and showroom cars.
- Sweeps outside front doors, and in winter, shovel and salt the entrances to the building and knock snow off the cars.Ensures each vehicle has at least ¼ tank of gas, and is clean on the interior (no trash).
- Start the cars once a week and let them idle. Check to see gas, if any lights are on, and move lot to make sure all the vehicles are straight and in order. Ensures that the Navigation and Sirius Radio are activiated.Cleans vehicles and remove shipping materials after new cars are stocked in (get keys from manager).
- Ensures that each car has their Stickers, Hang Tags, and Buyer’s Guides hanging on them correctly, and that each car is properly merchandised for our customers.
- Compares serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice.Inspects vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice.
- Records the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt.Parks new vehicles in assigned areas.
- Catalogs and stores keys.
- Assigns stock control numbers to cars.Moves sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order.
- Delivers sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department.
- Services vehicles in storage and on the lot to protect tires, battery, and finish against deterioration
Qualifications
- A person who is honest, hard-working, clean-cut, and upbeat.
- Able to operate both automatic and manual transmissions.
- Friendly and enthusiastic with clients and customer-service oriented.
- Minimum of 18 years old with a current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Pre-screening drug and background test. We are a family-owned, drug free environment.
- This position requires the ability to bend, kneel, walk or stand for long periods of time in all types of weather
