Job Overview
As a Firefighter/EMT, you will play a crucial role in protecting lives and property by responding to emergency situations, providing medical assistance, and ensuring public safety. Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess the situation to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Operate firefighting apparatus and equipment effectively during fire suppression and rescue operations.
- Provide emergency medical care, including CPR, first aid, and basic life support to patients in various conditions.
- Conduct regular inspections of firefighting equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Assist in the training of new recruits on firefighting techniques, emergency response protocols, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, treatments provided, and equipment usage.
- Participate in community outreach programs to educate the public on fire safety and prevention measures.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during rescue operations or when handling equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Wisconsin EMT-B license
- Wisconsin Certified Firefighter I
- Valid Wisconsin driving license
- NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800
Preferred Requirements
- Wisconsin AEMT license
- Wisconsin Certified Firefighter II
- Certified Driver/Operator - Pumper
- Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC) Certification
- NIMS 300 & 400
