JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Community Maintenance Assistant Superintendent supports the Community Superintendent's goal of maintaining the common areas of the community in premier condition. To promote teamwork and cooperation, create a positive attitude within the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for supporting the daily operations of community maintenance
- Responsible for training community grounds staff in all operations of the department
- Assist Community Maintenance Superintendent in scheduling applications, functions, and personnel
- Assist Community Maintenance Superintendent in meetings with crew on safety, teamwork, and performance
- Assesses property on a daily basis
- Responsible for operation of equipment, i.e. loaders, backhoes, roadside mowers, sprayers, etc.
- Assist with implementation of annual flower beds
- Assist with irrigation needs and repairs throughout common areas of community
- Ability to multi-task between supervisory and direct participation concurrently in maintenance responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Community Maintenance Assistant Superintendent supervises the Community Maintenance Equipment Operators
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Valid driver's license
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
Turf degree or a minimum of 5 years' applicable experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to understand, read, and write English
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and use of Internet
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The Assistant Superintendent must have a strong mathematical and financial background.
REASONING ABILITY
The Assistant Superintendent has strong verbal and written skills and mathematical reasoning ability.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Pesticide Application certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The Assistant Superintendent must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and crawl. S / he must also have the ability to work in severe weather conditions and to lift 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is executed primarily outdoors and is subject to the extremities of weather
