Job Description and Summary
A member of the Moss Creek service professional staff is the face of our community. They are here to provide a positively memorable experience for all members and guests dining with us. They have extensive knowledge of all the menus, specials, standard food terminology, wines and cocktails. They provide timely, attentive and accurate service, personally tailored to each table’s experience. They take food and drink orders and ensure that all tables are provided an exceptional service experience at Moss Creek. They are to make sure the dining areas are always operating effectively to ensure outstanding service to members and guests. They are conscious of being present on the floor, timing and attention to details at each table served. They are familiar with menu items and specials and have an extensive knowledge of wine and cocktails.
Duties and Responsibilities - include the following but other duties may be assigned.
  • Is knowledgeable of the Levels of Performance service levels
  • Focuses on, and prioritizes, member recognition.
  • Takes food and drink orders from members accurately and with a positive attitude.
  • Ensures all orders are entered into POS correctly, noting any food preferences and allergies.
  • Engages with members in a friendly manner, providing extraordinary service.
  • Has full knowledge of the menu they are serving, with the ability to make food suggestions and warn of possible allergy triggers.
  • Ensures members are enjoying their meals and is quick to take action to correct any problems.
  • Is always busy, if their tables are taken care of, they are helping other servers or doing side work.
  • Ensures Cash is accurate and billing the correct members
  • Comes in to work on time with a positive attitude, in the correct uniform, neatly pressed.
  • Comes in with the proper tools to provide good service, server’s book, pens, wine key, and menu knowledge.
  • Charges members accurately by being familiar with the membership and addressing members by name throughout service.
  • Successfully and positively performs within work dynamics and under pressure.
  • Complies with all health and safety protocols involved in handling food.
  • Coordinates with the expeditor to ensure accurate and high-quality food and service.

  • Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced bar or fine dining restaurant bar.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff.
  • Able to perform high quality work, even while unsupervised.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • The ability to keep the bar accurately stocked.
  • Position will be required to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, nights, and weekends. You are part of a team who will ensure you have support and the ability to cover your time off.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. These functions are listed below, and other functions may be included as needed:
  • Regularly required to stand and talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Withstand a moderate noise level.

Reporting Structure
Service Professionals report to the Food and Beverage Manager who reports to the Club Manager.
Evaluation Process
Service Professionals can expect a formal annual review during Q4 of the current year. The Bartender can also expect periodic performance discussions with the Food and Beverage Manager as part of the organizations Levels of Performance System. These are periodic discussion where the Service Professional and Food and Beverage Manager will discuss job performance and possible graduation or decline in their Level of Service.
Physical Location and Hours
The Service Professional will work primarily from clubhouse and Bostwick Park locations. Location may change due to unforeseen circumstances or to create visibility of the administrative team or to assist other members of the leadership team at the direction of the Food and Beverage or Club Manager. It is expected that the Service Professional will work with the Food and Beverage Manager to determine ongoing work hours for you and your direct reports.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation increases are discussed during the formal annual review.
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of 3-years’ experience in hospitality or similar experience.
  • Knowledge of private residential communities in the Hilton Head Island area a plus.
  • Commitment to the goals and initiatives of the food and beverage department.
  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge and dedication to professional development.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale use.
  • Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with staff.

Other Skills and Abilities Three years minimum security management, training and customer service background.
